Seddiqian named most productive at Fajr

Mehrdad Seddiqian has been named 37th Fajr Film Festival’s most productive star.

The title of most productive star for the 37th annual Fajr Film Festival goes to actor Mehrdad Seddiqian, for appearing in more films competing in this year’s film festival than any other actor.

The young actor, who did not star in any films in last year’s festival, was named most productive for starring in four films competing in this year’s event.

‘Original Idea’ directed by Azita Mogoyi, ‘Symphony No. 9’ directed by Mohammad-Reza Honarmand, ‘Gold’ directed by Parviz Shahbazi, and ‘Tsunami’ directed by Milad Sadrameli are films that Mehrdad Sediqian has starred in which will be competing in this year’s Fajr Film Festival.

For the second most productive actor, there is a tie between seven actors with each starring in three films competing in the festival:

Ali Mosaffa in ‘My Second Year of College’, ‘Orange Days’, and ‘Man Without a Shadow’.

Saeed Aqakhani in ‘African Violet’, ‘Oath’, and ‘Gold Porter’.

Farhad Aslani in ‘6.5 per Meter’, ‘Man Without a Shadow’, and ‘Buffoon’.

Bahram Radan in ‘The Unrest’, ‘Original Idea’, and ‘Tsunami’.

Babak Hamidian in ‘Reverse’, ‘Buffoon’, and ‘My Second Year of College’.

Pantea Panahiha in ‘Jamshidiyeh’, ‘Darkhongah’, and ‘Suddenly Tree’.

Mahnaz Afshar in ‘The Unrest’, ‘Oath’, and ‘Suddenly Tree’.

At third most productive there is also a tie, this time between eight actors. Hamed Behdad, Javad Ezzati, Peyman Moaadi, Navid Mohammadzadeh, Mehran Ahmadi, Parinaz Izadyar, Hediyeh Tehrani, and Linda Kiani have each appeared in two movies competing in this year’s event.

As with previous years, fans and actors alike will be watching closely to see who ultimately takes home this year’s Crystal Simorghs during the February 11, 2019 awards ceremony.

Founded in 1982, the Fajr Film Festival is an annual event held on the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, celebrating Iranian cinema.

Over the years, the event has played a key role in the development of the Iranian film industry.

This year’s festival will be held from January 30-February 11, 2019 commemorating the 40th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.
